Dear friends,
Acts 4:29-31 And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus." And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

We got into Tumpieng Tum on 18th Nov evening. Immediately, we began to sense opposition from some fraction of the community. In a week's time after we have found many Men of Peace, Satan has inflicted confusion amongst some leaders. While the police took the opportunity to extort money from us, there were also people with authority who asked us for Government approval of our ministry at this village.

We turned to God and discerned of His direction. Acts 4:29-31 came into mind and we proceeded as according to our plan - to follow up on the new believers and gathering people to worship as a body of Christ. We praise the Lord for His protection and grace and mercy for by His providence, we are amazed that we have found the place of worship at this village and a body of Christ who worship. It seemed that God has placed with us the people He wanted us to convey His words.

Pls pray for the spiritual growth of this church as we will be visiting them to strengthen them from time to time. Pls pray for Huey(pic color above) and this church that God will use them to be instrumental in community transformation at Tumpieng Tum village.

Beside the church planting work, we have also investigated a land of 100 hectares available for sale directly from the government. This land will be utilized to grow pepper thus further the Kuy ministry and dormitory ministry in Phnom Penh. Upon approval by our consultants, we will proceed to purchase the land according to what the Lord has willed for us - To Rebuild and Restore Cambodia. We ask that you will pray for us for His guidance and protection, and for the funds available to purchase the land.

Lastly, we pray for rest and a time of refreshing with the Lord. Last 3 months has been intensive with so many things that have happened. We are feeling the Elijah Depression effect. We trust that His grace is sufficient for us as we keep focus on the cross.

Many blessings.

Dear friends,

This is a brief video on our last trip to Tumpieng Tum, Preah Vihear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjQ7hN5in00
We are back at Tumpieng Tum for follow up. We will be worshipping with them daily from today till Monday hoping that they will keep meeting together to spur one another in their faith. Pls pray for the following:-
a. That the Lord will lead us to the Men of Peace He has called that we can lead them to salvation;
b. Building up their faith individually;
c. Establish worship in their lives daily individually and corporately;
d. We will be reaching out to 100 children. May the truth be sowed in them.
e. Pls pray for journey mercy home on Monday.

I am also viewing a 100 hectares land in PV. May the Lord grant us insight, wisdom and discernment for decision making. This land is part of our vision for Kuy people. May the Lord grant us a sign/affirmation while we are on the land.

David.

Dear friends,

Kuy Village, Tumpieng Tum, Preah Vihear - What He has done…

Background on Men Of Peace: Last year, we combed through a Kuy village of 37 families with 16 people. After about 6 days, we found only ONE Men of Peace.

Amazing: This trip, we combed through a Kuy village of more than 100 families with 35 people, including Joey and Rohaam. The result … we found more than 30 Men of Peace with more than 18 conversions. That's not all as the Lord gave us a booster as well.

Miracle: An old couple was seen sitting at a front porch. The wife told us that her husband was oppressed by a spirit since last year and thereafter, he could not walk, not even stand. We asked the husband, 'Do you want to stand up again? Do you believe that Jesus can heal you?' 'Yes,' he instantaneously replied. When we commanded him to stand up in the name of Jesus, he stood up!!! Just like in the bible, he walked around his neighborhood displaying the glory of God.

Eyes opened: Just like the 72 in Luke 10, we returned with joy, believing that even the demons submitted to us in His name. Yet, we praise the Lord for His faithfulness. He has been so gracious and merciful to the Xroads church and indeed, blessed are the eyes that see what we had seen for many prophets and kings wanted to see what we had seen but did not see it. He has indeed increased our faith for greater work has yet to come.

What's next?

We will send out another team of 12 people to Tumpieng Tum on 18th to 21st Nov. We will be teaching them on His Holiness thus developing in them an intimacy with God. We pray that His church will arise there as we march to enter 'Kuy Promise Land'.

For the past two years, the Lord has given us pepper Enterprise as we journeyed into Kuy ministry, an unreached people group. We praise the Lord for His affirmation as thiis holistic approach will provide job for Kuy people thus elevate poverty and community transformation amongst Kuy people. It will also naturally give us a platform for discipleship thus developing Christ Centered Kuy people.

As part of this 'Kuy Promised Land', we will therefore buy a plot of land, about 100 hectares, for pepper plantation. Interestingly, in the recent trip, the Lord has revealed the location of the land, exactly in the midst of Kuy people that we can work with them. Hence, we trust that greater thing has yet to come.

Prayer:

May Heaven invade Kuy villages at Preah Vihear province, where Kuy people are concentrated;

Funds about USD200,000.00 to purchase a land for pepper enterprise in Preah Vihear;

May Xroads Church continue to 'Dream with God'.

May more prayer warriors be raise to intercede for this ministry.

Many blessings.

11.8.11
Dear friends,

On one hand, we are transiting out of the country for a year, but on the other hand, we are making every second counts while we are still here. We are convicted that only sacrifices brings out Joy. We ask that you will join us into His suffering.

Year 2012 is indeed going to be great year at the Crossroads(we preach this again and again). This is evident coz the present will determine the future. We have been working hard to loosen the soil, to sow, and to nurture. Tomorrow, 35 people will Go! to in two by two, to comb through more than 100 families at this Kuy village, to seek the Men of Peace at Tumpieng Tik, Preah Vihear. This is life-changing, life-transforming in all sense.

I was considering Luke 10 again since this is our strategy. I realized that our going will determine life and death of people(vs 15-16). What a divine task with such authority and power, and what a consequences we will cause. Hence, the Lord promised - Lo, I shall be with you always.

So, may you remember us. Amongst the disciples going out will be Joey and Rohaam Ooi. We have 'little' but we are willing to put all we have at the altar trusting that Jehovah Jireh will manifest unto us. We will keep you updated as we all march out to be an instrument of the Lord.

As we prepared the team for our undertaking, we were convicted of His incomparable riches of His grace. We reflected on His faithfulness and goodness. Amazingly, a student(not part of the mission team), responded to accept Jesus as his personal savior. It seems like God is already giving us a foretaste of what is ahead when we go to Kuy village. We praise and trust the Lord for we believe there is more goodness to come in due course.

Many blessings.

11.1.11
Dear friends,

Students from broken families, economic oppression, and political uncertainty come to live at the Crossroads. This is the place we desire for them to know Jesus thus begin a Christ Centered life henceforth. As Abraham was chosen, his family was blessed and that a great nation would arise, these students will go on to rebuild and restore Cambodia. Pls pray for them.

The Crossroads has been blessed with some interesting church -planting work amongst Kuy people. In the last few weeks, we have been diligent in researching and developing relationship with some chief village with the intention to send out disciples to seek out Men Of Peace(Luke 10), head of a household.

On 9-13 Nov, the Xroads will commission a team of 30 people to Tumpieng Tuk Villlage where more than 100 Kuy families are residing. We will mainly spend time with youth in the village thus to seek out 'Men of Peace' of the village with the intention of church planting. Please pray for the following:-

His protection & journey mercy;

He caused us to identify His Men of Peace;

Relationship building with the youth who has been seen a social vices;

We ask the Lord of a supernatural encounter.

On the enterprise side, we will need to scout for a new land for pepper in Preah Vihear, where the Kuy people are concentrated. Pls pray that we will find the land(100 hectares) that we can hire Kuy people as workers to elevate their poverty and to cause community transformation through the gospel.

The Crossroads is in preparation to set up a new house for students. We would need your prayer - "Whom shall we sent, whom shall go for me"? Pls pray that the Lord will commission his angels to go forth before us to prepare the way. We will need to rent a place, to set up, etc. May His presence be with us to bless us.

10.24.11
Dear friends,

Col. 2:8 - See to it that no one takes you captives through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.

Kingdom perspective - As a new student, Thida used to believe that it is more blessed to receive than to give. Where does that come from? As she got to know Jesus, she was challenged by the fact that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Having a faith of a mustard seed, Thida has recently testified that whenever she is caught up with problem in life, that is the moment of opportunity for Christ to work and make completion in her. A life transformation, indeed.

Some prayer points:-

A mission team from Seattle is here with us. Besides the personal encouragement they bring, they will conduct 2 seminars, Financial Management and Biblical Marriage. Pls pray that such teaching/seminar will empower students to be Christ Centered Disciples.

A team is being prepared for seeking Men of Peace in Preah Vihear Province. This is a new location for Kuy ministry where the Kuy people is mainly located and concentrated. Pls pray that these young people will be bold in proclaiming His truth thus to be in step with the Spirit.

10.17.11
Dear friends,

It has been a while since we have last communicated. We have been away to Malaysia(While Moonjung was alone in Korea for medical check-up and mission report to some churches) for conference in which we have seen exciting work that the Lord has done to move His people for His kingdom. It is so encouraging to witness His people willing to move forward with faith. Praise the Lord.

Then we were at Singapore to work out some changes on our ministry and future direction. Please pray for wisdom and discernment for decision -making as to how we can best used by Him thus be effective in ministry. We will update you as the Lord reveals in due course.

On changes, we are returning to US for furlough with effect from Jan 2012. Yes, we are expecting great things to happen next year but we are leaving that His name will be exalted on high. Indeed, we feel like we are 'not invited to the great feast’ but I think such is His work - that He himself shall receive His glory. For us, we will be based in Seattle with a church in which we will be of mutual service to one another. Please pray for transition for us, and for Xroads as well.

Many blessings,
David Ooi.

9.19.11
Dear friends,

Students are going back home from 26th to 28th Sept being Pchum Ben(Ancestors' worship). This is a national holiday in which the whole nation would adhere to such cultural practice. Family activities such as cleaning altar for worship, preparing food for worship, bowing to monks and making worship(joss-sticks and idols, etc) would put the students' faith to severe test.

Obviously such tradition has set up a faith confrontation between our students and their parents and relatives who would condemn the young Christian abstinence due to their faith as 'disrespectful'. Pls pray for them - I Cor. 10:13. Let's pray that their faith be increased as well that they may come out victorious for His for His glory.

For the last 4 years, the church has sponsored 2 students to university, amongst other ministry needs, through its tithing. Praise the Lord :). We have just completed a 7 weeks Sunday school on Tithing and Offering. We praise the Lord that though the church is financially poor, it is a giving church. Students made commitment to practice tithing thus developing a giving heart. The church has been blessed and is pressing on to be a blessing to others.

Next year, the church will be granting scholarship to 10 students who attend school in Phnom Penh. We pray that this will be like Macedonian churches, who out of severe trial, they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability(II Cor.8:2-3). We pray and that it is our desire that we will be able to taste their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. May the grace of the Lord be evident and demonstrated to all students in University that our Lord's name be exalted.

Many blessings.

9.12.11
Dear friends,

"God hides things for you, not from you". Ministry, though often a mystery, is like a game of treasure hunt. The Lord will arouse our curiosity as we seek His direction. But the purpose is that He wants to make known to us thus bless us. As we journey in this 'treasure hunt' in faith(not by sight), He has blessed us with many revelations that have encouraged and empowered us for ministry. In return, have also been enabled in sweet intimacy with Him. Praise the Lord.
Many blessings,
David.

9.5.11
Dear friends,

We are on the way to Kuy village as you are reading this email. Audio bible recording for the book of Genesis has been completed. Indeed, those who sowed in tears would reap in joy. This trip, many will be baptized. We praise the Lord. For the process of recording, our journey to increase faith of Kuy people through His words in Genesis, pls view http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0LSgc5dq6Q.

Also on this trip, our leadership will pray and seek Him on our future direction. The Lord has blessed us so much. Hence, are now committed to reach out to ALL Kuy people in Cambodia. Pls pray for us and with us that we will be faithful to His commission unto Xroads Church. Thanks to you, and many blessings.

David Ooi

8.29.11
Dear friends,

The followers are often a mirror image of their leaders. Over the years, the Lord has impressed in me on how He would raise new workers for present and future generation. From a lawyer to a missionary, and then to a pastor and being equip in enterprise, He is raising new workers that no one(lives) will perish.

Pheriak is a new believer. He has been to Xroads in less than 3 months. Upon his conversion, the shared his dream and ambition(this is certainly very extraordinary for a Khmer). It is very interesting and very encouraging to witness how Enterprise Ministry has envisioned Pheriak to desire to serve the Lord with his life yet with enterprise being embedded in it. We believe that such a desire and thought is also taking root in many other students. We praise the Lord for His amazing work that is beyond our recognition. Indeed, we are to Rebuild and Restore Cambodia.

The Xroads is committed to raise leaders and future leaders in a "counter culture" way, leaders that would go beyond borders, leadership that is defined by faith and integrity that God can position at a place of influence. We will need your prayer.

Pls pray for Kuy ministry. On 5-7 Sept, we will be at Snaur to conduct baptism as more people are coming to the Lord. Pls pray especially for their repentance and conversion that they will abide in His holiness. Pls pray for wisdom in transmitting His words into their hearts that it will bear much fruit.

Many blessings,
David.

8.22.11

Dear friends,

The mission team to Jehok'na and T'bit came back with very unusual yet interesting report. While at the village, the following things happened:-
a. 8 out of 12 member team had weird dream at the same night(2nd night). The next day, they prayed together and were delivered;
b. 3 persons accepted and believed in Jesus;
c. There were several manifestations of the evil spirit;
d. Due to financial and tradition reason, majority of the villager were not welcoming the gospel despite affirming its truth;
e. There is an organization at the village that worked to preserve its tradition and belief system in which the villagers are bonded.
f. While Jehok'na was rejecting, the Lord opened way to T'bit, which incidentally are more welcoming. We were told to come back again.

So, what does that mean? 'Blessed are the eyes that wee what you see. For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and hear what you hear but did not hear it'. Luke 10:24

Please pray for our follow-up to these villages. Thus far, they are most remote Kuy villages; reaching them has been a huge challenge, both by distance and road condition, especially in raining season. Pls also pray for wisdom and discernment to work with the Lord that His kingdom will be established at Jehok'na and T'bit too.

As the Xroads is committing to evangelize to all Kuy people in Cambodia, we are equipping a group of people to seek Men of Peace at the location which we have researched recently - Preah Vihear. We will be sending them out in teams from Oct-Nov 2011 over weekends. Pls pray for this time of preparation that the Lord will carve out a heart with Great Commission.

At the Xroads, high school graduates are migrating into Phnom Penh city to further their education. We have commenced interview to receive new students. We are expecting a larger number than ever thus planting a new dormitory in the city. Pls pray for its progress that the Lord will grant us wisdom and discernment to judge not a person by his or her appearance.

Please pray also for Vatanak, who is leaving for Brussels, Belgium, for a year's exchange program. He has been with the Xroads for the last 6 years and has contributed his gift in music that has enabled us to worship. Please pray that his faith would be increased as he journeys with the Lord into the unknown.

Many Blessings,
David Ooi.

8.15.11
Dear friends,

Seeking and Seeing Kingdom of God - God gives us 'mystery' not to hide His kingdom from us but for us to seek His Kingdom. We praise the Lord that as we seek, He gives us revelation that grows our intimacy with Him. 2 yrs ago, the Crossroads were committing to Kuy people in Sala Visei, but today, the church is committing to all Kuy people in Cambodia. Please commit to us your prayer.

8.10.11
Dear friends,

The Snaur church(Kuy Village) was planted not too long ago. By early Sept next month, about 1/3 of the villagers would have been baptized. As they are growing in discipleship, we are envisioning them on the salvation of Kuy people, their brothers and sisters.

The Xroads Explorer Team and 2 Kuy leaders will work together to research a site where Kuy villages are congregating. We are hoping to identify the villages and its chief for relationship building and eventually church planting through the Men of Peace just as what we have accomplished in Snaur, by His grace. The team has set off this morning and we would appreciate your prayer(Lk 4:18-19; Jer 17:7-8; Lk 10; Rev 22:14)

Many Blessings,
David Ooi.

8.8.11
Dear friends,

The Xroads' girls are developing themselves to be Christ Centered disciples. They ministered to an orphanage home that is about an hour motorbike ride away from the city. Please pray that they will be a blessing to them as they learn to grow themselves. Meanwhile, Xroads Boyz is also pioneering a village where there is more than 100 under-privileged kidz. Pls pray for wisdom on how the Lord wants us to be of service to His beloved children.

The applicants(High School leavers) are coming to know about Xroads gradually. Please pray for the student intake process. It has been more complicated than ever. Please pray for wisdom and discernment to interview and welcome those that the Lord has called upon them.

As we prepare the intake, we are also preparing to launch new church plant in the near future. Please pray for Team Ps 127, a team that nurtures students at different dormitories, pray for their heart and their conviction of the Cross. They are very committed to the task before them despite their various responsibility in life. May the Lord use them to expand His work in Phnom Penh.

Many Blessings,
David Ooi.

8.1.11
Dear friends,

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over … every living creature that moves on the ground.” Gen. 1:28.

The two essential characteristics and ability that God has built in Adam as He empowered him are Natural Instinct and Creativity. With that capacity, Adam was able to work and take care(manage) of the garden. As we make disciple of the nations, may we also work toward His redemption of such image and likeness of God that is so precious and glorious in His sight. We pray that Xroads students will be restored with Basic Instinct and Creativity to win over the power of darkness.

High School students completed their national exam last week. They have commenced migrating into Phnom Penh mainly to pursue higher education in local university. The Xroads rides on the migration to house students thus to impact them on life formation during this integral part of their growing up process. We are expecting a huge intake for the Lord has already answered our prayer in which we have asked in His name. Pls pray also that we will witness Him as work - such a privilege indeed.

Life at the Xroads … Lundy's sister will be coming to live in the city. His mom expressed her disappointment on his son's faith thus commanded him to move out of Xroads to live with his sister. The discouragement and persecution is certainly hard to bear. Danet's sister is also coming. But her mom, who has been very disappointed and 'gave up' on the younger sister, blurted, 'If your God can change your sister, I will also believe in Him.' Others are taking this opportunity to bring their siblings and friends to live at the Xroads as part of the process of Salvation to Household. Pls pray that their faith will grow and be demonstrated through this intake.

Pls pray for new student intake. We will need wisdom and discernment to be selective as we are also developing 2 more new houses(potentially). In the midst of this, we are faced with a recent changes that the government is implementing property tax in which landlord would force the tenant to bear the cost. This is certainly detrimental to our ministry strategy. Yet, we thank the Lord for He would provide a way out as we put our hope in Him.

Many Blessings,
David Ooi.

7.18.11

Some two months ago, we asked for prayer on Recording the Book of Genesis for Kuy people. The Kuy believers are growing in faith and we felt that OT will be able to springboard their faith forward. At present, the literacy rate in Cambodia stands at about 75%(lesser if adult literacy). We are inclined that the project was worth pursuing at national level but our appeal has come to naught. Hence, with our best, Pichet began audio recording on Old Testament. We share with you herein the fruit of our labor.

a. Our God made heaven and earth, including us;
b. We are His very special creation;
c. Our God gave to us authority over all creation.

They understood how much they are worth to God. Kuy people are often oppressed and they often feel inferior. In response to the truth, 13 people repented and were baptized into the Lord.

We conducted the baptism quickly before dark and despite the stream was filled with leeches(its super dangerous!!!), they insisted. I guessed that displayed their faith in the Lord, and how obviously it has stretched mine. Yes, we walk by faith and not by sight :). Some baptized adults desperately pleaded with us to wait for them to bring their family members in order to be baptized but we assured them that we will come back soon again.

The next day, we continued to visit Kuy families, proclaiming the goodnews to the Kuy people. Many decided to follow Jesus. We work through with each of them on renunciation and severance of ungodly soul ties and burnt their idols as they submit their lives unto Jesus. We took the opportunity to equip Kuy church leaders and to make disciples of Kuy people. The Lord Spirit is certainly moving and certainly, Heaven is invading Kuy people. Praise the Lord.

7.11.11
Dear Friends,

As we planned to be a blessing, the Lord then positioned us at a place of influence. We were hoping to seek out a potential church plant with a bank, but the Lord gave us both the bank and the government that we may proclaim His truth.

Please pray for these relationship that we can continue to 'renew their minds' that they may be transformed by His truth as the end days draw nearer. We trust that the truth is working in them to convict them.

David.

7.4.11
Dear Friends,

As we have done much sowing in the students since early this year, we are now beginning to reap. Please pray that as they remain faithful to Him, the Lord will position them at places of influence for the sake of the gospel.

Pls also pray for the Kuy churches. Recently, we have encountered some 'false teaching' on prayer. Pls pray for wisdom as we find His opportunity to impart His word amongst them. Pls also pray for protection, abundant of grace and mercy as more and more people comes to the Lord.
Many blessings.

6.27.11
Dear Friends,

I have had my best sleep in a week yesterday. It was nothing compared to Elijah's confrontation with 800 over Baal's prophet, but by walking alongside Him as He charted the journey was the highlight. I witnessed miracle after miracle everyday, and deep in my heart, my response was simply...

"Amazing love,
How can it be
That You, my King, should die for me?
Amazing love,
I know it's true.
It's my joy to honor You,
In all I do, I honor You".

After a year with the Enterprise ministry, we are already making inroads into Da Commune where are pepper plantations are. We have witnessed great relationships being developed and very strong spiritual warfare as well. But all these only points to the right direction of the ministry for Heaven to invade Da Commune, and eventually its government - Cambodia.

The next milestone will be challenging - to acquire new lands for new pepper plantation that can springboard us closer to Kuy people(see map) that God can develop them holistically, and to set up a Missonal Center at Da Commune, Kampong Cham(Vision for Pepper Enterprise - To Preach the good news to the poor, to proclaim freedom for the prisoners ... to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor). Please pray for us and also joint us to Rebuild and Restore Cambodia.

Next week, we will be conducting a course on 7 Habits of Highly Effective People(by Steve Covey) at Canadia Bank. There will be about 80 participants, mainly General Managers and Managers of the bank in its various departments and branches in Cambodia. We will be partnering with Chinese Bible Missions Church of LA, US. Please pray for the following:-

Clear presentation and contextualization of the message to the participants;

Protection and mercy from spiritual attack; obedience to God and not to man;

Faith for God to work through the speakers and also in amongst the heart of the participants;

A vision and wisdom on how to develop relationship with the bank for Salvation purpose;

[The picture above is taken from the previous training just 2 weeks ago. May the Lord use this seminar to glorify Himself].

Walk by faith, and not by sight. This pathway will be confronted by much opposition and rejection from religious systems. God is looking for a people whose heart are entirely His no matter the response of others. Please pray for strength and endurance to bear the Cross, and also wisdom and discernment to proceed in the pathway of obedience.

Many blessings,
David Ooi.

6.20.11
Dear Friends,

The man was born blind that God can display His work in and through his life(John 9). He was healed and saw the man who healed him(v.11). In a short while, he saw that the man who had healed him was a actually a prophet(v.17b). Later, he proclaimed, Lord, I believe', and he worshipped Him. As we pray for spiritual development of students at Xroads with the vision of Rebuilding and Restoring Cambodia, pls pray for their accountability to Christ in their life physically and spiritually.

Last week, the Lord has opened up a new ministry opportunity with young professional. David successfully conducted seminar on Character Building at Canadia Bank, a large corporation group in Cambodia. Amongst the 82 participants were general managers, managers of various department and office branches. The Crossroads is now invited to submit a long-term training for the bank's approval. Pls pray for wisdom that the Lord will direct us on our future undertaking with them, especially in view of gospel sowing amongst them.

6.13.11
Dear Friends,

A young man was accepted at Princeton and Harvard amongst others schools. In a godly way, he seek and sensed that God was leading him to Princeton in which he obeyed. Interestingly, many were puzzled. In Proverbs, it says, "Man plans but the Lord determines". When the disciples saw a man born blind, they seek for an answer if the man was with sin or that he was born blind due to his parents' sin. Again, His thought is beyond our thought and His way is beyond our way. Jesus answered that the man was born blind that God's work can be displayed though his life.

How assuring it is to know that we, with our limited understanding are not able to comprehend whatever that has happened, can take comfort that God is still faithfully at work in us and through us. I was invited to speak at a retreat on Journey of Faith last week. The theme was deeply embedded in my mind as I prepared for the 4 sessions. What can I share? What He wants me to preach? Yet, in His faithfulness, He displayed His works through me. It was not only the 4 sessions that I was preparing but in fact, He was preparing me in the last 6 months to journey by faith with Him.

O Lord, it is not your faithfulness in question, but mine! Please give me the strength to be faithful to you in all I do in this life that you have given me. In Jesus name, Amen!

My friends, there are so many amazing things that is going on now. God is slowly unfolding His amazing grace to us for us to celebrate by end this year. We will need more prayer as we have already witnessed Satan calling for his reinforcement. Please pray that we will abide in Him to seek His victorious path. Indeed, we are more than conquerors!

Many blessings,
David.

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom.

When I first heard about Fong's traffic accident, I thought that it would be better off if he had died on the spot. He is a good guy but such was my reaction as I had understood the financial predicament of his family. Fong was employed as a laborer in our pepper enterprise. He broke both his legs, left collar bone, left arm, etc. Moonjung and I pulled ourselves together, reasoned and convicted that all these must have happened for His purpose and glory. Our sovereign God did not commit such brutal act though He has allowed it to happen. Yet, we seek the Lord on what He is doing through this accident?

How can we understand? One man came to Jesus and asked what to do to gain eternal life (Luke 10 25-28). Jesus said, "What does it say to do? The man pressed Jesus for more, but Jesus wouldn't give him any new information. Until he walked in obedience, he wasn't going to get more. Please pray for increased faith for faithful obedience at Xroads that we may witness more of His revelation for us.

Today the Buddhist world celebrate Buddha's 2600th anniversary of his 'Enlightenment'. This certain enlightenment has blinded and oppressed many people, if not all, in Cambodia. Then, there is this certain 'Christian' group in Cambodia which has prophesied that Jesus is coming on 21st May, this coming Saturday. Please pray that God would be gracious and merciful that His truth will set His people free from all these lies and bondages.

Coincidental to the prophesy that Jesus is coming back on 21st May, we are baptizing people on 21st May too :). Please pray for these young believers to grow in faith and to be faithful in following Jesus. May they continue to experience Jesus thus to develop intimacy with Him.

Many blessings,
David Ooi.

5.9.11
Dear Friends,

We praise the Lord for the church at Snaur village. Last week, we sent out a team to visit all our Kuy villages. As the team was sent out to collect 'leftovers' with a basket each(Jn. 6:1-15), they came back with each a basket full of blessings.

At Snaur village, we have found His grace and amazing provision, as always. We had just baptized 7 families earlier this year and are in the midst of praying and seeking the Lord on how to establish church governance there. We praise the Lord that the elders(all 3 have already been baptized) at this village has taken up ownership of the church and have been active in caring and evangelizing to folks in the village as well. Please pray that the Lord will continue to nurture and expand His kingdom in Snaur village.

Aunt Mi has recently believed in Jesus. Unfortunately, she has had a miscarriage and was urged by her relatives and neighbors to seek the spirit whom they claimed she had offended and provoked. By faith, Aunt Mi didn't conform. On Sunday, she testified that the Lord has given her the courage to testify for the Lord through a dream in which she saw heaven. God's revelation has given her the courage to submit to God and resist the devil. Heaven has invaded Kuy people at Snaur village indeed.

Also through the recent trip, the elders has 'shortlisted' 9 believers(out of more than 20) prepared for baptism. We are planning to conduct baptism this weekend but will have to postpone due to low water level at the river, and lack of water in the hot and dry season(At times, I wondered why can't we baptized them just as Phillip had done for the Egyptian eunuch). Pls pray for His timing, and our discernment to teach and impart His word to the Kuy people.

On baptism, Xroads will have another baptism ceremony on 21st May. We have 10 candidates ready for testify for the Lord. Pls pray for their heart preparation and also their consent from parents. We highly value the parental consent trusting that their blessing will lead to household salvation.

Many blessings.

5.2.11
Dear friends,

Just want to thank many of you for prayer offered.

Many blessings.

4.25.11
Dear Friends,

We praise and thank God for His faithfulness. It is evident to witness how the church is being in step with the Spirit in our absence. He is the Lord, and He is indeed the head of this church. Our return was timely as we gathered together to reflect on what the Lord has done through His crucifixion, thus the real meaning of His resurrection according to the Father in Heaven.

4.22.11
Dear friends,

We are back in Cambodia. While in Los Angeles, US, the highest temperature was 88 Fahrenheit. When we arrived yesterday, the lowest in Phnom Penh was also 88 Fahrenheit. Such is the reality and necessity for adjustment and adaptation when we minister from place to place. Please pray for the much needed wisdom and strength as we begin another new chapter in Cambodia. Also pray for discernment that we will abide in the Spirit as we fulfill the storyline as He has willed for us in this chapter.

We want to thank you for your prayer and support in the last missionary trip. We are glad to be re-connected with many of you. We thank God for the wonderful fellowship and the encouragement you have had blessed us. We pray that you will always fix your eyes on Jesus that you can always smile in the storm.

Many blessings.

4.18.11
Dear Friends,

We have wrapped up our travel and we will be flying to Korea in a few hours' time. Yes, it has been 2 months living out of suitcase in which we have experienced God's wonderful abundant provision and His faithfulness to us as we minister to churches in Northern America. We thank Him for relationship, care and concern of brothers and sisters in Christ and the opportunity to be of service to people as we travel along.

Joey and Rohaam was sharing at AWANA, a children ministry yesterday. It was exciting to witness many children got to hear about missions in 'kid way' :). We thank the Lord for friendship Joey and Rohaam can have and we pray that their relationship will blossom thus will bear much fruit.

Please pray for our journey today. Rohaam has been sick for the last 4 days (He is getting better this morning). We will need much strength for travel. We stay over in Korea till 22nd April and will return to Phnom Penh, our home, thereafter.

4.11.11
Dear Friends,

We are now in West Coast, US. After being separated for 11 days, we re-gathered together at Los Angeles. Under His leading, Moonjung had been working with a Korean young professional group. Moonjung's meeting with them was so timely as indicated by their teachable hearts, and readiness for His use. Please pray that our relationship with them will prosper for His kingdom building.

God continued to orchestrate people around us for His use. Many of you have known that we have been praying for Xroads in Indonesia, a Muslim country for several years. In San Jose, CA, this dream came true. In His time, He has assembled a group of very talented and dedicated Indonesian young professional people for His use. Please pray for His wisdom, discernment and guidance on how Xroads can be a blessing for His use in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Many blessings,
David.

3.28.11
Dear Friends,

The Crossroads continue to visit Kuy villages on 31st March to 3rd April to encourage and strengthen the believers. This trip, we focus on Sukrun, the first Kuy church that the Lord has led us to find. The team will mainly spending time with villagers(young women) thus to witness to them. Please pray that the Lord will lead them to be relational and intentional in proclaiming the gospel. May the Lord also empower some of the team members as this is their first trip.

We are coming to the end of our traveling ministry in East Coast, US. David will depart for Seattle, WA on 1st April to begin our visit in West Coast. Traveling in the midst of so many present political, economy/financial and social issues globally has been very challenging. People are showing many concerns for many things. Hearts are wondering everywhere not realizing that the hope of Jesus is what they need. Please pray for journey mercy and as our children would pray - Let's fix our eyes on Jesus.

Many blessings,
David.

3.14.11
Dear Friends,

"But I will not drive them out in a single year, ... little by little I will drive them out ... until you have increased enough to take possession of the land; (until)we shall be like Jesus. Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure(Ex.23:29-30, I Jn.3:2-3).

As we are traveling, God has put us into perspective that we are all pilgrim in journey until He has accomplished the good thing He has begun. It is neither about us finishing the journey nor about us needing to finish well. We are simply not capable of doing that.

Yet, in Jesus we can celebrate the "blessing of process", a blessing that we can put our trust in Him for He knows us and that He is increasing our capacity to finish the journey by His grace. Hence, we need to hope in Jesus, and to constantly ask Him to increase our faith in Him that He will enable us to finish well.

As we commenced our journey, we got to witness what the Lord has been working in the Muslim world. We pray and ask that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. The little bit we can do was to buy a little hat(a Muslim songkok) for Rohaam. The songkok reminded us to pray for the Muslim world and if He is willing, to develop a godly heart in Rohaam for the Muslim as well.

We continue to travel. This week, we will proceed to New York city. Please pray for strength and wisdom to be connected to people, to channel His blessing to others. Pls pray for the kids to enjoy His people, His creation and above all, to learn of the goodness of Jehovah Jireh as we travel by faith.

Many blessings and Shalom.

3.8.11
Dear Friends,

David had just hunted down Buffalo. It has been a great trip, most satisfaction to witness what the Lord has been doing. At least, at the age of 40, David is still making new friends. That's nice :).

We will appreciate prayers for Xroads, Pillars and Cana. The church is diligent in growing in His words and being faithful in their walk with the Lord as Christ-centered Disciples. The will need much grace and mercy from the Lord. Please pray for protection as we trust that the Lord will not give them temptation beyond what they can bear. May the focus on the faithful God who will provide a way out in time of trials.

Many blessings,
David.

3.1.11
Dear friends,

While living from the suitcase, we are made to rely on the resurrection life of Jesus much deeper down, to get into the habit of steadily referring everything back to Him. We must unlearned and avoid the habit of following Jesus based on our commonsense decisions which we asked God to bless them. Please pray that this journey will enable us to walk closer with Him.

David's next destination will be Buffalo, NY. Please pray that the connection with people and with God. May His presence be the basis of our unity that will propel us for His missions.

Many blessings.

2.25.11
Dear friends,

We touched down at Washington Dulles International airport yesterday noon, after close to 30 hours journey. At the checkpoint, David was sent to a Secondary Inspection to review his admissibility into US. We thank the Lord on how he took us away from the hands one 'very strange officer' who has been busy repatriating a few immigrants .

We thank you for your prayers. The support was vividly behind our heads as we press on to trust the Lord. His peace has been with us indeed.

Today, we will commence our first visit - Rutgers Community Christian Church, New Jersey. Pls pray for us as we speak and bless His people at its missions retreat.

Many blessings,
David Ooi

2.22.11
Dear friends,

We will set off tonight, flying from Phnom Penh to Washington DC via Incheon(S Korea). Estimated time of arrival at Dulles International Airport about 9.50 am US Eastern time. We need your prayer for journey mercy. It will be a long flight for us all. We will need wisdom and strength to overcome our physical weaknesses.

The last time we were there, David was badly misunderstood at the check point immigration on some traveling document issues. We were held up for a long time before being released by the grace of God. Please pray for wisdom on the officer with authority at the check point that we will have a smooth transition into US.

The next two month will be very challenging for our family. We will live from the suit-case moving from place to place to live with our hosts. Moonjung will continue to homeschool the kids and the kids will need to exercise much discipline. We trust that we will be protected and that there will be grace as we journey.

Please continue to pray for Xroads ministry. The leadership team will need wisdom in decision-making. Pray for those who teach and preach, small group leaders, Kuy ministry, enterprise ministry team that we will all manage forward to reach our goal of 12 House Churches in year 2012. We trust that our labor in the Lord will not be in vain.

Many blessings,
David

2.14.11
Dear friends,

Jehovah-Jireh - It is easy to profess our belief in Jesus, to proclaim our commitment to follow Him. Yet, we often struggled and felt guilty on our lack of faith in Him whenever we are faced with situation and temptation. God had made known that He would provide when He called upon Abraham. In return, Abraham put his trust in God although he failed when his faith was tried. The failure repeated a few times until Abraham was perfected when He sacrificed Issac by faith. He professed, indeed, the Lord will provide(Jehovah Jireh).

We have a father in heaven that is well known by His character to give and provide. Yet, such loving-kindness is often not comprehensible thus distorted by our experience with our earthly father. Morally, a good child would not want to create any inconvenience to our father. We are so convicted that we would rather live in poverty, or in any way possible rather than to add more burden unto our parents. As a father myself, I would grieve when my children would not ask from me. It would break my heart when my children would hide their difficulty from me. Lord, have mercy upon us.

At the Xroads, we accepted a Cham student, Ya. Cham is a minority people group in Cambodia who is actually a Muslim. Ya came to live with us despite knowing that we are Christian, and we eat pork. His enclosed heart and restraint at Xroads gradually changed as the word of God work in his life. Yesterday, Ya testified that He believed in Jesus and decided to put his faith in Him. Pls pray for his faith to grow into maturity in Christ. Pls also pray for the Holy Spirit to work in their parents' heart and to protect Ya from family and friend persecution.

Ya's conversion incidentally coincided with what is now happening in northern Africa and Middle East. We pray that the Lord will grant us wisdom, especially a heart of discernment of what He is doing and we can co-labor with Him for His kingdom expansion.

On the point of expansion, we are thankful that the Lord has sent us a group of dedicated believers from Vietnam. Last week, we gathered together for prayer and discussion on how we can make disciples of Vietnamese university students and young professionals in Ho Chi Minh city. We are confronted with Goliath indeed, politically and financially. Yet, God's message on Jehovah-Jireh has been timely. Do we trust that He would provide? He has already sent us the workers :).

On 23rd February, we will be traveling to US and Korea. David and Moonjung will be speaking at conferences and seminars/workshop. It will be timely to equip and prepare mission teams coming to Cambodia for this year. Please pray that we will bring His encouragement through all the wonderful work He has done at Xroads thus to empower them to grow until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Many blessings,

David.

2.14.11
Dear friends,

We have just returned from our trip to Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia since Jan 19th. Through the travel, we have achieved the following:-

a. Homeschool Conference at Chiangmai, Thailand. We praise the Lord for we have been doing well at Homeschooling by the grace of God. Academically, the children are developing well. Quoting a homeschool counselor - Academic problem is merely 10% of homeschooling while usually the remaining 90% is parenting. Please pray for the grace of God as Moonjung and me grow in our marriage thus nurture the kids in godly way. We praise God for Joey and Rohaam whom both are such a blessing to us.

b. Re-connecting with, family, churches and friends. Our trip coincided with Chinese New Year in which David got to preach and share at some churches and small groups, and as a family, we were able to spend precious time family and friends.

c. Resting. I remember the first 3 days at Bangkok, we practically sleep, eat and play. That was fun.

We are now preparing for our trip to US from 23rd Feb till 18th April 2011. Again, we will be visiting churches to report and to bring encouragement to our partnering churches. Please pray for journey mercy that we will constantly be a channel of blessing to others just as we have been called to.

Kuy Ministry
From 2nd -6th Feb, a team was sent out to Jongho-k'nah to seek the Men of Peace. We rejoice to report that we have found the People of Peace at the village. Like previous villages, Heak is also the chief villager. Please pray that salvation will come to his family, and that heaven will also invade Jongho-k'nah like other Kuy villages too.

Please continue to pray for the growth of young churches at Snaur and Sukrun. As they fellowship together, may the presence of God be with them. We are far away from them but we trust that the Pillar of cloud will guide them and the pillar of fire will give them light thus to lead them.

Putra & Mesa has been entrusted to extend His kingdom work at these villages. Please pray for wisdom and a heart of discernment that they will abide with the Spirit to strengthen the believers there, and will also continue to preach the gospel to those who have yet to believe. We also pray for new villages to be explored that more Kuy people will hear the name of Jesus.

Lastly, please pray for our Xroads Vietnam retreat this week, 16th to 20th February. There will be 10 university students and young professionals attending this retreat to plan future ministry in Vietnam. Please pray for the presence of His Spirit to lead and convict us of the work He has entrusted us in Vietnam.

Many blessings,
David Ooi.

Dear Friends,

We attached herein a video on Kuy ministry since it was set up in Feb 2009. May this be a reason for your praise and adoration for Him, and your continued prayer & Intercession journey for the Xroads.

Thank you.

Many blessings,

1.4.11
Dear Friends,

Another year, another new challenging year ... such is the excitement and adventure of His kingdom work for us. As I chart the ministry journey for year 2011 at the Crossroads, the Lord has also laid on my heart on how I should also manage forward our prayer and intercession that would be synchronized with His steps. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you(Matt.6:33). As we pray, let's ask for increased faith for us that we all will witness the power of gospel of Christ in end times. When His kingdom and His rule confronts with darkness, His light will shine, when it collides with disease, people are healed; when it runs into the demonized, they are set free. The Kingdom message's nature provides salvation for the whole man - spirit, soul and body. Let's continue our intimacy with Him and with one another as we all stand in the gap.

Many blessings.

12.22.10
Dear Friends,

Obviously, this is a last minute. There has been much to do. As we are wrapping 2010, we want you to know how grateful we are for you. Your support, concentrated intercession and words of comfort and encouragement have spurred us on for His Kingdom work. Hence, we are committed to toil and labor for Him. Thank you once again. And we pray that the Lord will bless you abundantly.

Many blessings,
Oois

12.13.10
Dear Friends,

The mission team came back with great report. As I am writing them to you, my heart is filled with praise - Heaven is in Snaur Village. The Father wanted Satan defeated by man... the Son of Man who was rightly related to God.

The team went for abundant gospel sowing purpose, playing Jesus' film to the villagers at Snaur(37 families in the village). About 180 people, both adult and children, turned up. Come to think about it, we faced severed opposition and not welcomed when we first came here. We found only a man of peace, and after close to 2 yrs of relationship building, more and more families are coming to God.

Through the Jesus' film this trip, 2 more families accepted Jesus as their personal Savior. That makes it 9 out of 37 families - Heaven invading Snaur Village? We continue to praise God and also pray for their spiritual growth. They will be tested and will be confronted by oppositions from men. Still, we trust that this seed will bear much fruit. It is the leadership of the church's desire that the village will be transformed in their lives. We amen with the church and would work and pray alongside them.

When the movie was played, the audience paid good attention to it. As a matter of fact, many men nodded in agreement with what Jesus has said. Many times the team could hear men's voice taking turn in agreeing with all that Jesus has said - Tre hai![That's correct!].

One of the men was Joi. Joi was attracted by the part when Jesus told his followers that even an evil father would give the best to his children(Matt.7:7-12). In humiliation, he realized how lovely our Father in heaven is and how he needed our Father to enable him to be a 'righteous' earthly father. This is a prayer come true as all men in the village got drunk often and displayed lack of responsibility in their lives. Joi's confession is a powerful witness to the change by His gospel. Please pray for Joi, please pray for his transformation.

pray for Joi, please pray for his transformation. Ip is uncle Hun's daughter. Ip testified that ever since his dad has believed in Jesus, their family has changed. Even though they are still financially poor, Ip has certainly experienced His love and peace at home. She praise and thank God for that.

Please pray for the growth of His church at Snaur Village. They meet very often encouraging and teaching one another. No music, no song, but they worship God in obedience. The mission team worshipped at the church first time and testified that the witnessed the presence of God, His joy and hope through the worshippers. Praise the Lord.

Many blessings, David Ooi.

12.10.10
Dear Friends,

We are on the way to show Jesus' film at Snaur Village tonight. We need urgent prayer for approval from the District Officer for such purpose. Please pray that His powerful and gracious hand is upon us. Also, please pray for the villagers that they will not fear but be comforted and encouraged by the power and love of our Father in heaven that is bestowed for them. Pls continue to pray for the young church at Snaur. Please pray that they will grow in quality and quantity.

David Ooi.

12.6.10
Dear Friends,

When Israelites consistently saw distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they were thrown out into utter darkness(Isa 8:21-22). Certainly they read Isaiah 9:6-7, and they literally hoped for a new government thus started a revolution in Jesus' times. While in Ho Chi Minh city last week, I got a firsthand experience on how a 'communist' would read and understand His word. Indeed, for us all, we cannot pour new wine into an old wineskin.
Still, thank you for your prayer and support. After the urgent prayer request was sent out, I was filled by His power and was lifted up with boldness and courage to preach His gospel. Truly, when God acts, opposition arose. However, in due course, the opposition would be thwarted and gospel and witness advanced. Let's praise the Lord for He is at work. Please continue to lift up the work there. I will be visiting the group again and hopefully, we will allow persecution to disperse the people with His gospel to all over the city.

The Crossroads is preparing for Christmas. This is another excellent opportunity for evangelization. We will be inviting friends thus sharing not merely His good news, but also bring hope to the nation. Please do pray for courage and wisdom in preaching the gospel. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to work in the hearts of many people for the Father desires none to perish.

The 17 students baptized recently are growing well. Please pray for their faith to be deeply rooted in His word. As they hold firmly hold unto their faith, may Jesus hold unto their hands.

At the Kuy ministry, a team from Crossroads will be sent to help the local leaders to grow their faith and church. Out of the 37 families at Snaur, 7 families were baptized last month(more to comeJ). Out of the 7, 3 are the elders of the village. They all have godly desire to bring heaven into Snaur. This Friday, we will invite all villagers to watch Jesus' Film. Please pray for protection, for seeds to grow, and for increased of faith that will enable them to put their hope and trust in Jesus.

This year, we began with a theme - Managing Forward. Our Enterprise ministry is growing by the grace of God. This ministry has indeed taught us to be great steward as we progressed from being a servant into being a governor of cities. Please pray for wisdom, understanding and practicing of kingdom perspective as we are light and salt in Cambodia.

Many blessings,
David Ooi.

11.30.10
Dear Friends,

I am writing to ask for an urgent prayer request. I am now in Ho Chi Minh city teaching and training a group of young adults. As we are talking about the book on Acts, I found that human tradition and communism ideology is obstructing us from understanding the truth. Please pray for wisdom in teaching them plus may the Holy Spirit work in them a teachable heart. Further, a decision with the church leaders is also due on how we can develop this group of about 200 people. They are very hungry and needed much empowerment by His word. Please pray that God will reveal unto us His way and His people be nurtured and that His kingdom be expanded here.
Thanks.

11.29.10
Dear Friends,

As we are faced with increasing tragedy on earth, we are reminded to put our faith to test in order to develop perseverance. Indeed, faith has been given to 17 new converts at Crossroads. We pray that they will take faith that the Lord has placed in their hands and use it for His glory as we all await His second coming(James 1:2-4; Luke 19:11-27). Pray for the way that they will handle their problem as it will determine their breakthrough, and pray for the way they will handle their blessing as it will determine its increase and multiply.

Many blessings,
David Ooi.

11.22.10
Dear Friends,

Many have heard of the Stampeding Tragedy in Phnom Penh last couple of days. As at today, the count on death toll has passed 450, with many still not yet being identified. Suddenly, the spirit of depression set into the country causing much fear and tremble. On Tuesday, a day after the tragedy, the nation is told to make sacrifice and offering to appease the dead. Many complied in fear of the dead spirit entering their house.

Last Sunday, we all shared about how the monk would invoke and gather all spirits and power to give protection to the King during the water festival. Interestingly, many spirits which were not known specifically were also invited - the more the better. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles(Romans 1:22-23). Please pray against the darkness oppressing and manipulating this broken nation. The good news is that Jesus is here to release the oppressed and to set the captives free.

News on the Crossroads: Our theme now is Managing Forward. Last September, we have taken in 25 students and this Sunday, 17 students would be baptized. By God's grace, the growth this year has been amazing both in quantity and in quality. The Pepper plantation is growing well(pls RSVP for harvest in May2011) and we are excited about what the Lord has in store for us. We pray that this enterprise will help the church generate income to expand His kingdom work. Btw, please also pray for another church plant Phnom Penh in Jan2011. Please pray for its leadership and preparation as well.

The Kuy church is doing well too. The recently baptized believers have been faithful in meeting together to listen to His word and to serve one another. Please pray for the continuing growth, godly influence and transformation of Snaur village. Please also remember other villages like Tlognei, Orr, Sukrun, Jehok'nah and T'bit.

Many blessings,
David Ooi.

11.8.10
Dear Friends,

We bring you glad tidings... Today, in the village of Snaur, 7 families have been baptized into His kingdom. Amongst them are 3 elders of the village and a former sorcerer. Last week, a team went to lead these new believers to renounce and severe all previous ungodly soul ties from them. It was challenging to trace their previous relation but the Lord has been very gracious and merciful in revealing and making known to our team to identify all territorial spirits, neakta(various animistic gods), ancestral spirits, etc.

In the middle of the week, another team was sent to review and obtain commitment from these young believers that they will be faithful in flowing Jesus. Please pray for them that they will be responsible to lead themselves to live holy lives, to be a responsible husband and father at home, and testimony to all people.

This little community is now a heaven on earth. The heaven is now visible through them at Snaur village. We got them to think and develop intentionally this heaven that all Snaur villagers will enter kingdom of God, and beyond. Please pray that through this development, they will grow mature in faith making disciples of all Kuy people.

God's grace and mercy is amazingly wonderful. He who began the good work will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

David Ooi.

10.25.10
Dear friends,

By the grace of the Lord, we are doing well. We just got back from a short vacation with David's parents. We went to visit Sabah(East Malaysia) where Joey and Rohaam got to be closed and learned about nature. It was refreshing and certainly a very rewarding trip in every sense.

We praise the Lord that He has given us the joy of harvesting. Out of 20 new students, 15 have accepted Christ as their personal Savior. We are looking forward to witness many more great things the Lord would do in their lives. Please pray for their spiritual growth and development of character building. Please also pray for the remaining students who have yet to believe.

Believers in Snaur Village will be baptized this week. Putra, Mesa and Channab have been commissioned to investigate all related ungodly soul ties attached to the believers' lives prior to their coming to Christ. On Friday, Nov 5, another group will move in to teach, to severe all ungodly soul ties, to baptize and make disciples of the Kuy believers. Please also pray for wisdom in the following areas:-

a. Helping and developing the believers to establish church governance at the village;
b. Developing leadership team for church growth;
c. Continue nurture and growth of young believers at Snaur;
d. Protection, grace and mercy from all physical, mental and spiritual attack.
e. Discernment for Xroads leadership to reach out to all Kuy tribe in Cambodia.

10.13.10
Dear Friends,

We present you House of Adullam, an extension of the Crossroads. We planned and desired that this house will multiply into 5 House Churches by end next year. This is based on 1 Samuel 22:1-5. Please pray for its leadership - Bora, Chetra and Pherum. At the moment, it has 13 residents, and it will increase to 28-30 by end 2011. They will be empowered by His word and Spirit.

For year 2010 high school exam, there were about 100,000 students registered. This number will swell to 180,000 by year 2012. This is certainly an opportunity and we pray for discernment on where the Spirit moves.

Please continue to pray for the Crossroads ministry. May its vision and focus on developing Christ centered disciples will bear fruits for ministry in Cambodia. May they move forward to rebuild and restore this nation.

Many blessings,
David Ooi.

9.20.10
Dear Friends,

We praise the Lord for His greatness. His salvation has been confirmed at Snaur, a Kuy village. Praise the Lord for His work in and through the Man of Peace, Uncle Hun. God has used him to win over his brothers. Amongst the 7 families whom will be baptized on 5th-8th November, 2 of them were elders of the Village. Please continue that He will complete the good work that He himself has started. On our next visit, we will help them to lead themselves thus to be mature in Christ.

Last week, I was in Vietnam teaching and training university students. This will go on every end of the month that these 200 people will multiply and mature in Christ. We thank the Lord for His favor on us. We will need your prayer.

Many blessings.

9.6.10
Dear Friends,

I have told you... that My joy might remain in you, and that Your joy might be full. John 15:11.

What was the joy that Jesus had? Is my 'joy' filled up and make complete by Him? The joy of Jesus was the absolute self-surrender and self-sacrifice of Himself to His Father, the joy of doing that which the Father sent Him to do. "I delight to do Thy will." Jesus prayed that our joy might go on fulfilling itself until it was the same joy as His. Have I allowed Jesus Christ to introduce and fill His joy in me?

I have been in the mission field for the past 20 years. I have been challenged consistently to bridge the conflict between organization and ministry. While organization requires rules and regulation, ministry can at times turn chaotic(it can be due to our weakness thus failing to be in step with the Spirit) to the dislike of organization. I thank God for every time conflict arises, I am able to check - Have I yield for God to work? Have I submitted to the authority?

As the ministry grows, naturally opposition(both internal and external) arises. Such was obvious in the New Testament church when apostles and believers had to yield to God and completely abided in the Spirit in order for His work to progress and expand. Please pray for us that we will discern and have wisdom thus be bold to manage and move forward with His leadership despite some hardships.

Please also pray that the Crossroads may be rightly related to God, find our joy there, and out of us will flow rivers of living water. May we be a center for Jesus Christ to pour living water, through us and unto many others, especially in hard times. May we stay focus on the overwhelming victory that has been promised unto us through Christ, who loved us, despite all these things(trials, suffering, conflict, etc.) Romans 8:37.

Still many blessings,
David Ooi.

Dear Friends,

In a less than a year time, we have been to the Kuy once or twice every one month. We recalled the many 6 hours' motobike ride one way(there was once 14 hours one way), the fear of accident(we had a major accident once), those falls in the mud, cuts from branches in the jungle, some wet and soaked nights on hammock, no showers and no bathroom, those headache from from spiritual attacks, sun burn(we called it black but sweet), ... the memories go on ... lol ... but last week, we founded believers and also conducted baptism for 4 people at Sukrun. Is it worth it?

Many blessings.

Dear Friends,

Last week, the Crossroads poured out to conduct a seminar on '7 Habits of Highly Effective People' in partnership with CBMC, Alhambra, CA, USA. We are thankful to have accomplished a wonderful week of abundant gospel sowing amongst 150 university students at Mekong University and also 200 senior civil servants and government officials. Some companies, local organizations and even monks(see middle of photo above) also attended.

We now have 5 other invitations, one from another local university, another from a private training center, and 3 others from various government departments to conduct the same. We praise the Lord and thank Him for He has done great things. And we pray for wisdom on our future undertaking to rebuild and restore Cambodia.

Tomorrow morning, a mission team will be sent out to Snaur, a Kuy village. We will be intentionally sowing the gospel seeds as well as strengthening the Men of Peace and teaching the word of God there. On Sunday, we will baptize our brothers and sisters at Sukrun. Please Pray for these 2 young families in the midst of 28 others yet to believe families at Sukrun.

Please pray for Xroads as we all now stand in the gap.

Many blessings,
David.

Dear Friends,

We wonder what the Lord is doing in our midst. We will need your prayer. Thanks.

David.

Dear Friends,

God is working, and when God is working, we have the transformed mind to see. Jacob dreamed of angels ascending and descending from heaven. Nathaniel was promised to see angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man. By the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we can see the kingdom of God. We have seen how the Lord has worked to transform 12 students whom were baptized yesterday. Praise the Lord. We pray that their faith will be increased and that they will be a blessing to many others. Meanwhile, pls pray for another two students, Nora and Chek that their parents would approve of their baptism. It was a temporal 'setback'. We pray that the waiting time will bringforth His glory. And we pray that His glory will continue to fill the earth just as water fills the ocean.

Dear Friends,

While worshipping at Cana, the Lord led us to pray for ministry with women under exploitation. Interestingly, when Cana was set up, God gave us a passage in John 2 where Jesus changed water to wine. We remembered that He has called to bring healing and restoration to many girls(we misunderstood as university girls specifically). As at now, we are convinced that the Girls at Cana will be discipled to serve women under exploitation. And as at now, we know that we are ready to serve the wine. May His angel go forth to prepare the way for us.

We are conducting a seminar at Mekong University from 2nd Aug to 6th Aug 2010 on 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. We pray that through this seminar, we can manifest to students the consequences of man's sin and the need for Jesus to live again. Please also remember mission team from Chinese Bible Mission Church of Alhambra, CA who will work with us on this project. We pray also pray that through this seminar, Crossroads will establish relationship for gospel sake.

We continue to pray for Phern and Heng at Sukrun(Kuy Ministry). In end August 2010, we will have baptism for these two families. This is glorious but we also are reminded of potential persecution from the village. Please pray for His grace and mercy, for protection and for more opportunity to testify for the Lord that the whole village may come to Christ.

Many blessings,
David.

Dear Friends,

With House of Cana already commissioned, the 'left over' at Crossroads has to regroup and re-organized to manage forward. There is much to do as per what the Lord has entrusted us(the Crossroads). We look at the book of Numbers, took census thus administered responsibility to everyone. However, everyone of us has to make a choice - obedience or curse. May our desire to obey God be accompanied by the presence of the Holy Spirit. may we make our election sure by walking in the light, always ready for His use. We appreciate your prayer.

David.

Dear Friends,

In hardship and tough times, there is a victory promised. Hence, we are called to 'look out' for His way out that our joy will be made complete. We praise the Lord, even though we may not have reached the end of tunnel, we are striving and managing forward in unity to 'look out' for His way out that our joy will be made complete and His glory will be manifested. We appreciate your prayer.

Many blessings,
David.

Dear Friends,

Pepper Enterprise: In the gospel of Luke, it was recorded for us that there were existing political, financial and social problems. Oppression, both physical and spiritual, was to full extend. People were in poverty thus being imprisonment politically, economically and socially. There was also a need for God to give recovery of sight for the blind. Hence, Jesus was commissioned to preach good news, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor(Luke 4:18-5:11).

We praise the Lord for commissioning Crossroads to empower people like Bora and Karano to do the same - Making fishers of men. The discipleship journey ahead is challenging, and sometimes overwhelming. Yesterday, a rich business approached us to help him out in his plantation. We certainly have the skill(by the grace of God), but how do we be a blessing to them can be tricky. We pray for wisdom and discernment in poverty elevation, in preaching the gospel, and more so, to make Christ Centered Disciples in Cambodia as we rebuild and restore this broken nation.

Centered Disciples in Cambodia as we rebuild and restore this broken nation. Thouen and Pet are young people from Kuy villages we have reached out. They have been employed to work at our pepper farm, almost 300 km from their village. We pray for their salvation. Interestingly, owners of adjacent land have questioned us on where did we get our employees/laborers. They commented that our employees/laborers are diligent and hardworking. We were encouraged to receive such comment as we seek to be light and salt of the area. Please pray that His glory consistently and continuously be revealed to overpower the evil power that has been manipulating people there.

At Crossroads, new students(Pichet, Chek, Rada, Sombat, Nora, Srey Nec & Pharak) are learning foundational study. Like previous new intake, we are walking them through OT to NT thus bringing to their attention on some life issues according to the truth. Please pray for wisdom in applying the word of God to enlighten them on their real identity in Christ. Please also pray that His love will penetrate thus to cause healing and restoration of these people as His redemption work in them commenced. May the eyes of their heart be opened and may the Holy Spirit work in them to see the kingdom of God.

Some Prayer Points:-

- Please pray for church planting of 5 House Churches by end year 2010[20 in year 2012];
- Please pray for relationship issues at Xroads. May the trials help to build faith, and teach one to focus on the 'right things' instead of division;
- Please pray for 'Project management' workshop in mid July 2010;
- Please pray for new 'Timothy' group;
- Please pray for spiritual growth of the men of peace in Snaur and Sukrun;
- Please pray for search of Men of Peace in 2 other new villages(Jeho'knah & T'bet) in August.

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man.
And God is faithful;
He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.
But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
I Cor. 10:13.

Many blessings,
David.

Dear Friends,

Leadership Development Seminar: The Crossroads is conducting a 8 weeks Leadership Development Seminar. 20 non-resident students have committed to 8 weeks which the Crossroads will focus on relationship building and evangelism. Please pray for the flowing:-
a. Removal of Anti-Christian sentiment amongst the non-believer
b. Transformation of heart and mind through various leadership issues;
c. Wisdom in relationship building, in loving our brothers as Jesus also loved and concerned about the sheep outside the pen;
d. Salvation of these students.

The girls at Xroads are not behind :). Last week, they organized a tea-party to facilitate relationship building with one another. We praise the Lord for the attendance and trust that Moonjung and the leaders will continue to build these girls that they will grow in maturity in Christ. Please pray that the activities they've organized will enable girls to be deeply rooted in Christ. May the Lord also bless the endeavor of student leaders who have learned and demonstrated servanthood of Christ through this.

God, who did not spare His only begotten Son on the Cross, did not also spare us from pain and suffering(A testimony):

The Kuy ministry has been entrusted to us since October 2008. Since then, uncountable times of visits have been made for the purpose of exploration, evangelization, discipleship, church planting, etc. Each trip is a minimal 6-7 hours one way. The longest was 14 hours on a motorbike one way!!! We praise the Lord for His gracious opportunity to serve with Him, more in the capacity of being an instrument used by Him. We also thank the teams who have been sacrificial in using their own motorbikes for traveling purpose. But I am thankful most is their living sacrifice - their lives.

Though the church has been contributing to the gas and sometimes motorbike repair, I cannot conquer the fact and fear that accident on the road can happen in a twinkling of an eye. What then will happen to the ministry? Is this the will of God? Each time I was on the bike, the fear traumatized me. Each time, I would secretly swear that that would be the last time we send out teams on motorbike. Finally, after one of the last trip, I decided to write for fund-raising to purchase a truck for traveling use. I remember sending out the email to brother X on Monday evening, and on Thursday, a pledge was made unexpectedly for USD35,000.00. The Lord is good?

We rejoiced but unfortunately the money didn't come in time thus delayed the purchase. At the same time, there was an urgency to make another trip to the Kuy. Unexpectedly, the clean accident free record was broken. I crashed the bike and we flew 2-3 meters forward. I bruised my left arm, chest and right knee. That's nothing. The pillion rider bruised her face, needing 4 stitches. What is pain and suffering? Why did God allow it despite all the already ongoing suffering for Him?

But as we pondered on the Cross, especially on what he is doing, we could witness His presence with us throughout our journey. We certainly witnessed His tears and pain for us as we suffered, and above all, we have witnessed His glory that has been demonstrated through so many good things that have arisen. We praise the Lord for heart and mind transformation at the Crossroads, the dedication for church planting despite being a mere college student, the courage to go against empty human tradition and philosophy. I witnessed a revival of a new generation rising up to take the place with selfless faith and also a genuine willingness to be sacrificial for kingdom's causes. It(the pain and suffering) is worth it. God is good indeed, and He is faithful and truly, His love endures forever.

Many blessings,
David Ooi.
